The Cardiff Law and Global Justice Annual Kapila Hingorani lecture was given this year by Professor Siobhán Mullally, Director of the Irish Centre for Human Rights at the National University of Ireland, Galway and outgoing chair of the Council of Europe Group of Experts on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings.
In September 2018 Tom Rowland and Marco Miotti, students from the Cardiff Law and Global Justice Pro-Bono programme, were hosted for a three-week internship in New Delhi by our partners the Nirmal and Kapila Hingorani Foundation.
Cardiff Law and Global Justice was delighted to contribute to the Third International Symposium of the Learned Society of Wales on ‘Ethics of Sustainable Prosperity for All’ held at the Magdalene College in Cambridge from the 11th to the 13th of September 2018.
In collaboration with Warwick Law School, we launched an annual workshop for doctoral students working on law, global justice and development in May 2018.
The formal launch of a research centre that focusses on law, justice and globalization took place this November at the School of Law and Politics.

Four students from the School of Law and Politics were given the opportunity to travel to Kenya this summer to carry out internships in Nairobi.
Two new international students will join the School of Law and Politics this September after being awarded prestigious Vice Chancellor Scholarships.
A group of three law students will be placed with a leading public interest litigation and constitutional reform organisation in Kenya next summer as a result of a successful application to the University’s Global Opportunities Fund.
The work of students from the School of Law and Politics was recently mentioned before the UK Parliament’s Joint Committee on Human Rights.
